Katharina von Knop is the founder and CEO of DiTA Digital Trust Analytics. The company was founded based on her scientific work on the topic "Building Digital Trust". In the #mthcon2020 session “Experiencing Digital Humans – From Uncanny Valley to Suspension of Disbelief?” Katharina von Knop, Siegfried Löffler (Director Business Development at InterDigital) and Hermione Flynn (CEO of MimicProductions) will tackle questions such as: Can digital humans be empathetic? And what will interaction with digital humans do to ourperception of being human?
What key message(s) do you want to share with this year’s conference community?
Future AI developments will be awesome. They will massively expand our own cognitive abilities, enable us to make better decisions and will lead to very individual personal experiences.
Everything we do and don't do has an effect on our brain, so we should pay close attention to our brain every day to enable it to perform at its best.
Do you have any intriguing insights that you want to share with us?
Relationships with robots are faster possible on a large scale than we think, because as soon as we realize that something has a form of intelligence, we project our feelings onto the other and we humanize.
Already today Emotion AI is a 2.4 bn industry. Emotion AI is a broad term used for machines that measure, understand, simulate, and react to human emotions. Hundreds of thousands of people are already maintaining human-like relationships with those AI solutions like Replica, Waysa and Simsimi.
