The Entertainment Stage of the MediaTech Hub Conference will focus on Production during the first day of the conference. "Next Level Tech: From Efficient Workflows to Enhanced Creativity" will start on a high level with two leading experts from Hollywood and Europe: Michael Cioni (SVP Innovation at Frame.io) will be live in Studio Babelsberg to talk about the "Camera2Cloud" workflows that were introduced for the first time in 2021 – and show them directly on-site with a setting from Los Angeles, London and Babelsberg. Joining him on stage: Marianne Carpentier (CTO at Newen) will be sharing current case studies of MediaTech innovations in film production.
Hollywood is one thing – German production reality another? The session "The Tech Dilemma: How German Productions Can Use Tech for Success" will have Tania Reichert-Facilides (Managing Director at Studio Hamburg Enterprises GmbH), Tim Greve (Managing Director at Constantin Film) and Rowan de Pomerai (CTO at DPP) discussing what we need to change in Germany in order to shape the future of film production – and doing this by using all the possibilities MediaTech has to offer.
In "High End Virtual Production: How Does It Work?" we will discuss this question with Christina Caspers and Jesse Kretschmer of DARK BAY – the largest Virtual Production Studio in Europe where the new Netflix series "1899" is currently being produced. The Managing Director and CTO will share exclusive insights into how the Virtual Production Studio works and the possibilities for high-end series. What this means for the new era of film studios will be revealed by Charlie Woebcken, CEO of Studio Babelsberg AG.
"Survive and Thrive" is the motto for the following session with Erik Wolff (CEO at Halostage), Hasraf Dulull (Director at Haz Films), Jannicke Mikkelsen (Virtual Cinematographer at Stowaway) and Thomas Hoegh (CEO at Garden Studios). They will shed light on how virtual production can also be used by smaller and medium-sized studios – and what advantages result from this.
In "VFX Versus VP? How Virtual Production Impacts Post", we explore what role VFX plays in times of Virtual Production – and to what extent synergies can evolve here with Kaya Jabar from framestore and bepic's Radoslaw Jamrog. We're looking forward to hearing what they have to say!
