MIZ Creators Day will be postponed until early 2023. To stay informed, keep an eye on the website of the Media Innovation Center Babelsberg (MIZ).
Discover new tools, try them out in practice, develop your own formats and network! With the MIZ Creators Day, the
Media Innovation Center Babelsberg (MIZ) brings innovative solutions from the media industry to where they are needed: to the editorial offices and newsrooms.
During the workshop day, local journalists and media makers will get to know two new tools from MIZ Babelsberg. They can not only test
the solutions but also develop their own application ideas for their newsrooms together with the project teams.
The MIZ Creators Day is divided into two workshop phases so that all participants can get to know both tools. An
introductory keynote on the topic of innovation in journalism will provide additional inspiration.
Vertical52 is a project by journalists and entrepreneurs Marcus Pfeil and Michael Anthony. The web platform is designed to make it easier for
journalists to use satellite and radar data for (investigative) research.
Cultway is a project by founders Frederik Görtelmeyer und Simon Siegert. The software allows journalists to easily create interactive audio stories
– a new format that conveys knowledge in an innovative way by combining audio and interactive visual elements.
Hendrik Lehmann – Head of Tagesspiegel Innovation Lab, winner of the German Reporter Award 2018 and 2019 and the Data Journalism Award 2019,
project lead of Radmesser (a 2018/19 project combining data journalism, citizen science and machine learning to measure whether cars keep enough distance to cyclists in the city).
