One billion people, or 15% of the world’s population, experience some form of disability. Global awareness of disability-inclusive development is increasing. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD)
promotes the full integration of persons with disabilities in societies. (https://www.worldbank.org/en/topic/disability) Not only is this a social challenge we need to tackle as a society, but it also gives rise to
huge market potantial.
Gaming- Being able to play video games can be one way of social inclusion. The video games market is expected to be worth over 90 billion U.S. dollars by 2020, from nearly 78.61 billion in 2017.

At the MediaTech Innovation Day on November 18, 2019, the day before the MediaTech Hub Conference, we will explore how MediaTech can
foster social inclusion. We will explore the question of how we might enable people with a disability to participate in the world of gaming. We will do this by moving through the iterative and
interactive phases of Design Thinking to develop tangible ideas, in a world where inclusion and viability will go more and more hand in hand.
We will address these important issues at our interactive Innovation Day together with BIRNE7
e.V. (Erlangen) and in cooperation with Medical Valley EMN and
the HPI School of Design Thinking.
Join us to develop ideas and concepts for media technologies that help to make our world more inclusive. The Innovation Day will take place on Monday, November 18, 2019, in Potsdam-Babelsberg.
