Another two days to go and then the MediaTech Hub Conference will be opening its doors in Potsdam-Babelsberg. 80 international speakers will be speaking on three stages about MediaTech in Industry and Entertainment. It is THE update on media technologies in Germany with a programme of more than 35 hours and hands-on workshops.
Entertainment Stage
The Production track will see Michael Cioni (frame.io, Los Angeles) giving a live presentation of the latest Camera2Cloud workflow with parallel link-ups to Ireland, Los Angeles – and Potsdam-Babelsberg. Christina Caspers and Jesse Kretschmer will talk in the Virtual Production track about their work in what is currently perhaps the best Virtual Production Stage (DARK BAY) in the world, and we will also discuss the prospects for this revolutionary technology with other experts from the UK, Norway and Germany. Metadata combined with artificial intelligence is the future for distribution in the film business. Our international speakers will give you insights into the latest developments, and we will look at how Germany is finally getting into the streaming race. And you will also be able to hear from Ted Hope, independent filmmaker and former Co-Head of Movies at Amazon, who knows exactly whether and how indie film has a future in the age of streaming.
Industry Stage
We will get off to a spirited start with Holger Volland (brand eins), Malachy Browne (New York Times) and Uke Bosse (self-proclaimed "media guy") in the debate about the importance of MediaTech in business and society. The Future Industries track will present very concrete applications in industry and finance. Naturstrom CEO Tim Meyer and Maria Xylia from Stockholm will explore how MediaTech is promoting energy transition – concrete applications from all over Europe will also be presented in the Energy track. And you can also look forward to hearing about MediaTech applications for learning in companies and industry, with the internationally renowned game designer Noah Falstein, among others.
Are you in the mood for something really visionary? Start-ups, research projects and journalists will be showcased on our Partner Stage. Featured partners include Google, BBC, EBU, GEMA as well as Film University rector Susanne Stürmer and mabb CEO Eva Flecken.
At last, we can start networking again! Come along to our big Get Together in the Conference Center and meet up during the conference in the Matchmaking Area or online. All this is possible now without any face covering and without any social distancing – because the MediaTech Hub Conference is based on 2G plus test. Get ready and be there! We are looking forward to seeing you: LIVE in Studio Babelsberg or ONLINE on our interactive conference platform on November 10 and 11.
